Life at Home

I was discharged on Christmas day, after spending an extra night at the hospital (with c-sections you can have 3 or 4 nights there) to recuperate and be at the hospital with the babies.  It was nice to go home and see our cat (whose didn't know his life was about to forever change).  We also had a lot of stuff to do in order to prepare for bringing the babies home.

After a couple of incidents that kept the babies from coming home when they could have, we were all able to leave the hospital on Wednesday, their one week birthday.  I have pictures of them all ready to come home, but we need to find the USB cord for our camera, so those will be up later.  Eddie loaded the babies into the truck, which was finally getting its intended use, and we were off.  No more red ramp parking!

Life at home was stressful and tiring, but it was so nice to be at home with the babies.  We immediately got use out of our double pack and play; we are very glad we made the decision to buy that.  We did things like first baths and putting babies in Christmas stockings (again, pics to come later).  My mom spent the first week with us to help out, and she was a great help.  Eddie's mom came over and helped the next week when Eddie was at work, and she was also very helpful.  We are lucky we have such supportive family members that are able and willing to help.

It is exciting to watch as the babies do different things over time.  They're having an easier time holding their heads up, and they're able to lift their head up when they're on their stomachs for awhile.  They're also getting better with feeding, which is a relief!  I am excited and nervous for when they start to be awake and alert more often.  We also made our first trip out as a family, just to Walgreens and Walmart.  Taking babies with definitely makes a trip take a lot longer, but it felt good to be able to go out of the house as a family.
